A coffee brown pure Kanchipuram silk saree in a zari by zari weave, which gives the brown a fine gold shimmer, with a broad rose pink zari band woven through the centre of the body. Mayil (peacock) and tree zari buttas are scattered across the body, above a wide gold zari border of peacocks and floral bands. The contrast pallu turns to bright pink with zari buttas and rich zari borders, and the plain pink blouse carries a matching zari border. Silk Mark certified pure silk with pure zari, handwoven and curated in very limited pieces, it has a light yet poised drape that suits all body types and is right for wedding celebrations, receptions and festive evenings. It comes with an unstitched blouse piece and is dry clean only.

Mayil is the Tamil word for peacock, one of the oldest motifs in Kanchipuram weaving. Here the peacocks appear as small zari buttas on the body and again along the wide zari border.
Butta is a single motif woven into the body of the saree on the loom, not printed or embroidered on afterwards.
Care Guide
Dry clean only. This is pure silk with pure zari, and it should not be washed at home.
- Dry clean only to preserve the richness of the silk and zari
- Store folded in a breathable muslin cloth or cotton bag, never in plastic for long periods
- Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and perfume
- Use sweat pads with the blouse to protect the silk from moisture
- Refold along different lines every few months and air the saree in shade
- Fold with the zari facing inwards to retain its natural sheen
- Iron on a low silk setting from the reverse, with a cloth over the fabric. Never iron directly on the zari
- Apply perfume and hairspray before draping, never on the saree
With thoughtful care, a pure Kanchipuram silk saree can be cherished for decades and may become an heirloom.
Handloom Characteristics
This saree is handwoven using traditional Kanchipuram weaving techniques, so no two pieces are identical. The following are marks of hand weaving, not defects:
- Subtle variation in the texture and sheen of the silk across the body
- Minor irregularity in the spacing or size of the zari buttas
- Slight unevenness along the lines where the rose pink band meets the coffee brown
- Occasional loose threads on the reverse, where the zari is carried across the motifs and border
Colour Representation
We photograph every saree under neutral lighting to represent its tone as accurately as possible. However, slight variations may occur due to:
- Lighting conditions
- Fabric texture and weave
- Screen or device settings
The rose pink band is woven with zari, so it can read as rose, peach or soft gold depending on the light. The coffee brown body is woven zari by zari, so it carries a fine gold shimmer and can look deeper, close to dark chocolate, in low light.
If you would like more clarity, we are happy to assist with:
- Additional close-up photos
- A personalised video call appointment
These characteristics are inherent to hand weaving and are not considered defects. They are what make each Ayraa saree truly one of a kind.
Styling Suggestions
Blouse: The saree comes with a plain bright pink blouse with a zari border, so the contrast is already built in. Use the zari border on the sleeve hems or along the back.
Stitching the blouse: Tell your tailor where you want the zari border to sit before the fabric is cut. Border placement has to be planned.
Jewellery: Temple gold or antique gold sits most naturally with the wide zari border. Rubies or pink stones pick up the pallu.
Drape: Pleat it the usual way with the pallu over your left shoulder, so the rose pink band falls across the pleats and the bright pink pallu is seen in full.
Wear it to: wedding celebrations, receptions and festive evenings, as a guest or family member.
